Obituary


JAMES "SMOKEY" ROHRER JR.

James A. Rohrer Satellite Beach James A. "Smokey" Rohrer, Jr., 66, a native of Springfield, MO, died peacefully at home on Monday, March 29, 2010. After graduating from St. Agnes Catholic High School in Spring field, MO, Jim served in the U.S. Navy. In 1968, he joined the U.S. Army and became a scouter pilot in Vietnam. He received many medals and commendations including The Purple Heart. After working with South com at Ft. Rucker, AL he came to Patrick Air Force Base, FL. Here he worked at DynCorp, serving the Air Wing of The Department of States Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs for over 20 years. He held important aviation operational and management positions in several overseas programs. Surviving are his wife of 29 years, April; his children, Gray, Patrick and Haley; and beloved family members.

A gathering will begin at 6 p.m. with the Funeral Mass to follow at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic, where he was an active member.
