CW3 Tuttle was born in Nogales, Arizona on 4 December, 1950. He served at Fort Rucker, Alabama before arriving at Fort Campbell, Kentucky as an instructor pilot for Charlie Company, 158th Aviation Battalion.
CW3 Tuttle was killed while serving as an instructor pilot of an UH-60A, #999, when it crashed in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Panama on 4 October, 1983.
He was married to Diana Tuttle and had two children, Josephine and Dominic.
