Chief Warrant Officer 3 Carlos P. Guerrero
20 October 1960 - 20 July 1994


CW3 Guerrero was born in Fort Worth, Texas on 20 October, 1960.  He graduated from Castle Berry High School in 1979 and enlisted as an infantryman.  In 1980, he completed Ranger and Airborne training.  After serving four years in 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, he was selected to attend Warrant Officer Flight Training at Fort Rucker, Alabama.  Upon completion of flight school, he was assigned to 3rd Squadron, 4th Calvary Regiment in Hawaii as an Aeroscout pilot.


He subsequently attended the AH-1 Cobra qualification course and the Cobra instructor course and then served with the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas.  In 1989, CW3 Guerrero was selected for assignment to Bravo Company, 1st Battalion.  He later served with distinction during operations Just Cause and Desert Storm.


His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Medal (1 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Saudi Arabia Kuwait Liberation Medal, the Ranger Tab, the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, the Senior Aviator Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.


He was killed during a night training mission at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, in an AN-6, #8424679 on 20 July, 1994.  He was married to

Mary Guerrero and had two children, Dianna and Jeremy, and one step-son, Adam Singleton.
